Felsius shows °F and °C together. This section explains what is collected, why it is collected, and how to reach Felsius with questions.

What is collected

• Device & usage: IP address, browser/device info, rough location from IP, timestamps, and basic events (page views, searches, errors, performance metrics).
• Location: Approximate location (via IP). Precise location only if permission is granted; used to fetch weather and not stored long-term by Felsius.
• Searches: Places a user searches (stored locally in the browser for convenience).
• Email (optional): Provided to access certain app features.
• Support messages: Information included when contacting Felsius.

How data is used

• Show weather for a user’s location or searches.
• Maintain and improve reliability and performance (aggregate analytics, debugging outages/errors).
• Send product updates.
• Respond to support requests.

Legal bases (EU/UK)

• Performing the service: Showing weather for a user’s queries or location.
• Legitimate interests: Improving reliability, preventing abuse, basic analytics.
• Consent: Precise location access, marketing emails, and any optional cookies/trackers accepted by the user.

Sharing and processors

• Weather & geocoding: Open-Meteo APIs receive coordinates or place queries.
• IP geolocation: GeoJS / ipwho.is receive your IP to estimate rough location.
• Analytics: Felsius Custom Analytics (app performance and usage patterns only).
• Email: Email provider stores the address if the user signs in with their email address.
• Infrastructure: Hosting/CDN and logging providers may process IPs and basic request data.
• Error monitoring (if enabled): May receive crash logs and device/browser details.

Personal data is not sold.

Cookies and local storage

• Cookies/local storage may be used for analytics and to remember recent searches.
• These can be cleared via browser settings.

Retention

• Recent searches stay in the user’s browser until cleared.
• Analytics data is retained for a limited period to support reliability and performance monitoring.
• Emails are kept until the user unsubscribes or requests deletion.
• Support messages are kept as long as needed to address the request and maintain records.

Your choices and rights

• Precise location may be declined; manual search remains available.
• Recent searches can be cleared in the UI or via browser storage.
• Unsubscribe from non-essential emails via the link in any email or by contacting Felsius.
• Request access, correction, or deletion of personal data by contacting Felsius.
• EU/UK users may also object to processing, request restriction, or request portability; contact Felsius to exercise these rights.
• Consent may be withdrawn at any time (e.g., disable location, unsubscribe).

Security

HTTPS, access controls, and reputable processors are used. No method is perfect; report any issues to Felsius.

Children

Felsius is not directed to individuals under 13 years of age. Individuals under 13 years of age should not provide personal data.

International transfers

Data may be processed in regions where processors operate. Where required, safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent protections provided by processors are relied upon.

Changes

This policy may be updated as the product evolves (e.g., subscriptions). The “Last updated” date will be revised and, for material changes, notice will be provided in the Service.

Terms of Service

Use of Felsius constitutes acceptance of these terms. If a user does not agree, the Service must not be used.

Definitions

• “Service” means the Felsius website/app and related features.
• “Content” means text, visuals, and other materials provided by Felsius.
• “User Content” means anything submitted to Felsius (e.g., feedback, support messages).

Use of the service

• Felsius is licensed for personal, non-commercial use only.
• The following are not permitted: scraping or bulk harvesting, reverse engineering, exploiting or interfering with the Service or its security, and any unlawful or infringing use.
• The user is responsible for their hardware, network connection, and compliance with applicable laws.

Eligibility

The Service is intended for individuals who are at least 13 years old. Individuals under 13 are not permitted to use the Service.

Accounts and access

No account is required at this time. If accounts are introduced in the future, additional terms and conditions will be presented at registration and must be accepted before use.

Location and permissions

Where a user grants location access, Felsius will use that permission solely to fetch relevant weather data. The user may revoke this permission at any time through device or browser settings.

Weather accuracy

Weather data comes from third-party providers. Accuracy, uptime, and availability are not guaranteed.

Use is governed by the Privacy Policy in this document.

Email and accounts

• The application is currently available free of charge. An email address is required for access to certain features, and will be used to provide access information and periodic updates.
• The user is responsible for the accuracy of any email provided.
• Users may unsubscribe to non-essential emails at any time. All users will recieve product update emails.

Future subscriptions

If paid subscriptions are added, pricing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms will be provided before any purchase, and these terms will be updated accordingly.

User content and feedback

By submitting feedback or other content, the user grants Felsius a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display it to operate and improve the Service, and for marketing and promotional purposes (including marketing materials, advertisements, the website, social media, press quotes, and testimonials). Felsius may excerpt or paraphrase submissions for clarity while preserving intent.

Prohibited uses

• No scraping, bulk harvesting, or automated collection.
• No reverse engineering, attempting to bypass security, or interfering with the Service.
• No using the Service for unlawful, harmful, or infringing purposes.

Intellectual property

Felsius and its content are owned by Felsius or its licensors. Use of Felsius trademarks or branding without permission is not permitted.

Third-party services

The Service uses third-party providers (e.g., Open-Meteo, GeoJS/ipwho.is). Their terms may apply when their services are used.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” All warranties are disclaimed to the extent permitted by law.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Felsius is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, profits, or business. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, any resulting direct damages are limited to the amounts (if any) paid for use of the Service during the twelve (12) months before the claim.

Termination

Access may be suspended or terminated if these terms are violated or the Service is misused.

Indemnity

The user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Felsius from claims arising out of the user’s misuse of the Service or violation of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Felsius is established, without regard to conflict of laws principles.

Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date will be revised and, for material changes, notice will be provided in the Service.
